The INMIS Research Master Class (RMC) is a closed, seminar-type training opportunity for active paediatric research groups. Its dual aim is to give junior researchers a high-quality environment in which to present and discuss their work, and to offer a broader view of current global research in maternal and neonatal immunization.
Junior researchers present their data, ask questions and chair sessions, guided by global research leaders in a collegial, seminar-style atmosphere — ideal for work in progress and for receiving substantive feedback.
Primary goal
Provide junior researchers with meaningful opportunities to present their studies and engage in discussion with peers and global leaders in a structured, supportive setting.
Secondary goal
Broaden participants' view of current global research and stimulate new scientific collaborations across institutions and countries.
Research scope
From bench-type basic and translational research to clinical studies (observational, case-control, RCTs, interventional) and epidemiological studies in any area of maternal and neonatal immunization.
Who should apply?
The RMC is built around research groups rather than individual applicants, so that mentoring and discussion carry on beyond the day itself.
Group structure
The RMC is based on the attendance of research groups, not individual applicants.
Each group must comprise one (1) senior researcher and a maximum of three (3) junior researchers — for a maximum group size of four (4) persons.
Funding support
- Symposium registration fee waived for junior participants who do not already hold a travel bursary to attend INMIS.
- Lunch and coffee/tea during the INMIS Research Master Class covered for all group members.
- Senior members are expected to cover their own registration and travel/accommodation costs, unless already covered otherwise.
The RMC format is well suited for work in progress. Participation offers valuable feedback and input from peer research groups and senior leaders, and is an ideal complement to full symposium attendance.
Junior researchers
Junior researchers take an active role throughout the day: presenting their research data, asking questions of invited speakers and chairing discussion sessions. They receive guidance on scientific discussion in a seminar-type atmosphere.
Senior researchers
Senior researchers serve as mentors and academic anchors for their group. They facilitate discussion and help junior members engage with global leaders. Senior members cover their own attendance costs unless already provided for.
Research types accepted
- Basic and translational (bench-type) research
- Clinical studies: observational, case-control, RCTs, interventional
- Epidemiological studies
- Any area relevant to maternal and neonatal immunization
How to apply
Applications are submitted by email to the INMIS Secretariat. There is a limit on the number of groups that can participate.

List of participants — names, credentials, institutional affiliations and email addresses of all group members (1 senior + up to 3 juniors).

Research summary — a short summary (maximum one page, A4) of the group's current research interests.

Abstracts from junior members — maximum 300 words each, structured into Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions. The abstract may be one already submitted to INMIS.
